Web based setup
If the computer on which you install the application has an active internet connection, you just need to download a very compact setup file.
All required resources will be downloaded automatically from a GMG server via the internet.
Automated paper feed adjustment
This new feature automatically finds the best paper feed adjustment value and thus helps to ensure a fail-safe calibration process and an optimal print quality.
Calibration tips
Have you ever experienced problems getting your printer calibrated?
Proof verification and GMG OpenColor
The verification of static GMG OpenColor profiles linked to a custom proof standard has been improved.
You can use either predefined target values, create your own target values, or verify against the target values from the proof profile.
New proof standards for Epson SureColor SC-P-LLK
The application includes new proof standards for Epson SureColor SC-P-LLK on GMG ProofMedia premium semiMatte 250, GMG ProofPaper semimatte Light, print mode 10c 720x1440 dpi.
Revised gamut files

Gamut files for Epson Stylus Pro x900 and Epson Stylus Pro x890 printers, 8c 720x1440 dpi, and for Epson SureColor SC-P-LLK, 8c/10c 720x1440 dpi, on GMG ProofMedia premium semiMatte 250, and for all supported measuring devices have been revised.

When creating custom proof standards, the revised gamut files will automatically result in a higher match with the target values from the characterization. Less optimization cycles will be required for achieving the highest possible match.

PDF 2.0 compliance
The new ISO 32000-2:2017 standard PDF 2.0 format brings several new features and enhancements, especially for print production and thus relevant for proofing.
CxF/X-4 support

The ISO 17972-4:2018 standard defines the universal color exchange format CxF.

The spectral measurement data of inks are meant to characterize spot color inks and thus allow reliable printing and proofing of products that have been designed using these inks.

Gapless paper tint simulation
A continuous paper tint simulation without gaps is now possible with new option Fill Gaps
GMG Calibration Control Strip
For Epson SureColor P printers and Epson Stylus Pro x900 and x890 printers with integrated measuring device ILS30, the validity of the printer calibration can now easily be verified by printing a GMG Calibration Control Strip.
Automated printer pausing after failed GMG ProofControl Inline verification
When the new option Set Printer on Hold is activated, the software printer in GMG ColorProof is set to hold automatically each time the verification of a proof standard control strip fails.
Pausing GMG AutoCali Wizard

It is now possible to pause the automated calibration for newer Epson printer models, for example, to print an urgent job in-between.

The calibration proceeds with the next optimization cycle after you unpaused it. Also, it gives you the opportunity to manually check the process and finish it if the intermediate results are satisfying.

GMG ProfileEditor
GMG ColorProof now supports IT8 7.4 test chart for X-Rite i1 Pro2 and i1iO (M1 condition) for creating proof profiles.
New job status Canceled on Printer

Now, there is a new job status called Canceled on Printer for jobs that are canceled on the printer panel.

Jobs

Encrypted PDF support

When loading a password secured PDF into a manual job, you will now be prompted to enter the password.
If password protection is enabled in the PDF, but the password is left empty, the PDF will be loaded automatically without prompt.
